What is depression?
Depression is more than sadness. It is a persistent low mood, loss of interest in things that once brought joy, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and often a sense of disconnection from yourself and the people around you. It affects approximately one in seven Australians and can range from mild and manageable to severe and debilitating.
Depression can appear gradually or arrive suddenly following a significant life event. It can sit alongside anxiety, chronic illness, grief, relationship breakdown, or major change. Left untreated, it tends to deepe
